Responding to Denise at girlieontheedge blog, six sentence story using the word ‘circle’.

Once upon a time, in a far away kingdom, there lived a crippled boy, lovingly cared for by his elder sister.

Every morning she would lift him from his bed, cradle him gently in her arms and place him in the chair by the fireside.

She particularly enjoyed inviting children from the village to sit in a circle around an old apple tree, where they would include her brother in rhyming and word games, as well as his favorite ‘hot potato’.

Each morning, as she gently stirred her brother into wakefulness, she couldn’t help but notice how frail and pale he was becoming and tried to hide her concern with a cheerful good morning.

There was a morning when no matter how much she tried she could not awaken him and she entered into a period of deep loss and mourning with her heart broken in pieces.

After a period of mourning and deciding there must be other children who needed loving care , she set out on her quest to bring some comfort to the less fortunate of this world.

  1. I thank the Lord daily for my sister who cared for my mother the last 3 years before she died. We’d have been lost without her. Good six.
